HKICPA Insolvency Guidelines
These were issued by the HKICPA (1 October 2005). The purpose is to provide guidance to members of the profession in relation to the administration of liquidations in Hong Kong.
They do not carry the force of law, but are an effort to establish what should be seen as best practice for anyone acting as a liquidator in Hong Kong.
They cover HKICPA members only, and do not apply to other professional bodies. However, it is hoped that all liquidators, regardless of the professional body of which they are a member, will act in accordance with them.
The three which have been issued to date are in respect of liquidators investigations, the preparation of receipts and payments accounts and the preparation and submission of directors’ disqualification reports.
